APPROVAL OF THE LIFE SKILLS 4 TEENS GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE FEDERAL GRANTS TRUST FUND FOR SARASOTA HIGH SCHOOL
Description
COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $160,280 will allow Sarasota High School to provide enhanced instruction, mentoring activities, training, mentor support, and addressing unmet needs. The grant will enhance and improve student performance for at-risk, low-performing students and to reduce dropout rates by providing additional learning opportunities.
Recommendation
That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the Life Skills 4 Teens grant proposal.

Financial Impact
$117,330 in in-kind funds such as school staff time and facilities will be used to match grant funds.
